Dementia-Friendly Community
Wesley United Methodist Church
is a dementia-friendly community,
seeking to grow in our welcome
of those living with dementia
and their caregivers.
Ground-Level Entrances

The main entrance of our building is located on South Maple Avenue. It is a double set of doors, the far right of which has electronic assist.
During worship and other events the spaces along the street directly in front are specially designated for drop off and accessible parking.
At other times of the week, visitors can enter through the single office door (which has a power assist) to the left of the electronic sign.
Accessible Spaces

Our church building is constructed all on one level, with plenty of open spaces, natural lighting, and movable furniture to allow adjustments.
Doorways are wide enough for most walkers and wheelchairs. We also have a single-occupant/family-style bathroom for additional privacy.
During worship and other events, ushers are available to answer questions, to give direction, and to assist with whatever is needed.
Compassionate Community

We believe that every individual is made in the image of God, worthy of all love and grace, and we make every effort to welcome one another.
We are learning how to make space for the wide variety of needs folks live with, striving to offer warm, friendly, patient support along the way.
If you have questions, concerns, or something that you need to help you connect, please let us know so that we can journey with you.
